The God Of The In-between

mindfulmamamadness

How often do we tend to forget about God until we are faced with trials or hardships? We turn to him only in our highest highs and lowest lows. We go about our lives through the week as though He doesn't exist and show up each Sunday to praise and assume a blessing when we ignore and avoid Him all the other days of the week—having faith only when it is convenient or when we have time. Would people believe that you are a Christian as you go out into the world during the week by your actions? or would they only know upon finding out that you go to church on Sundays? If they could hear your conversations, see how you spend your time, watch what you watch and know what your thoughts are, would they be convinced you are a child of God?

Jesus' blood was not only shed for the minute that we came to faith but for every moment and every sin we will commit for our entire lives. Romans 12 tells us "be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."In 2 Corinthians, we also read that "if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

Are we still living as our old creatures, going about our days as though our lives have not been touched by Christ's sacrifice for us? are we grieved by each sin we commit as we know it weighs upon His body upon the cross, or are we happy to continue in our pleasures of the world. satisfied by the one day or morning that we give to Him.

I challenge you this week to take a look at your lives, think about how we live throughout the week and how we show forth the love and light of Christ in our lives on Monday through Saturday and think about what we can do or change, with God's help, to be living our lives wholly and fully unto His glory. He is not the God of the in-between. The God of the highs and the lows, not just of Sunday but of every day of every year, all the time and for all eternity.
